Autograph Collecting

Off and on for the last 20+ years I have collected autographs. It started out with baseball players; My great uncle Fred Marsh had played baseball for 6 seasons in the 50's and regularly got requests for him to sign baseball cards which he always did. I started writing famous retired baseball players for their autographs, and in the process got the signatures of Warren Spahn,Stan Musial, and Willie Mays.

Fast forward about 10 years and I started collecting autographs again, this time for the most part political figures. Here are the ones I got since 1997.
Steve Forbes (1996,2000 Presidential Candidate) signed index card Oct 1996
Eugene McCarthy (1968 Presidential Candidate, Senator) signed index card Nov 1996
Gerald R. Ford (38th US President 1974-77) Feb 1997 Signed First Day Cover and biography of self.
William F. Buckley Jr (Founder National Review) Signed Index Card (I sent it and got it back in 3 days!) 1997
Jim Wright (Speaker of the House 1987-89) Signed Index Card
Marty Marion (1944 N.L. MVP and My great uncles manager on the 1952 St. Louis Browns) signed index card
Ned Garver (All Star Pitcher, teamate of my great uncles) signed index card and a note on a comment I made in my letter; Later on I requested he write a letter for Uncle Fred
s induction into the Corry (PA) Sports Hall of Fame which he did.
Hank Arft (1951 St Louis Browns) signed index card and a business card for his funeral parlor!
Pat Robertson (Founder CBN, 1988 Presidential Candidate) Inscribed 5x7 photo
Katherine Harris (Florida Secretary of State) Signed 5x7 picture 2001
Lindsey Graham (One of House Manager's in Bill Clinton's Impreachment Trial and current U.S. Senator from South Carolina) Inscribed 8x10 photo
Bob Barr (House Manager; Clinton's Impeachment, Former Congressman from Ga and 2008 Libertarian Presidential Candidate) Inscribed Photo and signed letter
Jimmy Carter (39th President) signed book
George W. Bush (Current President) signed index card for me in person August 30,2000
Rick Santorum (former U.S. Senator) signed Bush/Cheney phone script 2004
Phil English (Congressman) sent me a signed photo and signed the same script with Santorum. He got a good laugh when I said I would sell it on eBay when he became President

I might of missed one or two but thats pretty much it. I'll go on to weighter topics next time
