Oh Please!

I just read that Rod Blagojevich said he was hired to fight for the people of Illinois and that's what he's doing.

Oh Please!

The fact is this is a man who allegedly tried to sell President-Elect Obama's Senate seat. He is at 7% popularity, and the state is at a standstill awaiting whether he will be impeached or not. Richard Nixon was a fighter too but when he saw that his impeachment trial would impede U.S. foreign policy and bring the nation to a standstill, he did the honorable thing and resigned.

I call on you Governor to do the same.

Why Caroline Kennedy doesn't belong in The Senate

I have nothing personal against Caroline Kennedy; This is a woman who has lived in the spotlight her entire life, Who had her father murdered when she was 6 and her uncle when she was 11. She, along with her late brother, have seemed to have turned out alot better then some of their other Kennedy cousins who have been in the headlines in recent years. However, having a famous last name, and being the child of a beloved president, are not qualifications to be appointed to the U.S. Senate. If Ms Kennedy wishes to be a senator she is welcomed to run for the office in 2010 and then if the people believe she is well qualified and vote her in, I will have no qualms about it. Her uncle, Ted Kennedy was elected in 1962 on the basis of his last name but he was the choice of the people of his state; not of a single man.

I would advise Governor Patterson to pick someone who has held elected office and has proven they would be able to rise up to the job. Being a Republican I know I will not like the politics of anyone he chooses, but no one would argue that someone like Andrew Cuomo, who has held both appointed, and elected office is well qualified for the U.S. Senate. Personally, I would like him to appoint Mario Cuomo to serve out the remainer of Hillary Clinton's term, and then have a free for all in 2010.

As for the comparisons between Caroline Kennedy and Sarah Palin; I see no simularities at all, except they are both women. Governor Palin has held a number of elected offices. Kennedy has never won any elected office.

I apologize for not posting regularly. I have recently moved and my computer isn't online yet. I do however, want to give my comments on the 2008 election.

• Although I disagree with Barack Obama and would almost certainly never vote for him, I am glad that we have come to a day, as Americans where a black man can be President of the United States.\
• Sarah Palin is the Republican Party's new superstar.  If she wants the nomination in 2012, I believe it will be hers, granted that she doesn't do anything really stupid ala John Edwards.
• The Republican Party needs to find a way to appeal to Hispanics, while at the same time not becoming pro-amnesty.  We should in our outreach to them, put a spotlight on the GOP's conservative positions that the majority of Latino's share.
• We need to also take a page from Obama's playbook, and find a way to appeal to the youth vote. We need to find a way to use the internet for this, the way 'The Chosen One" has.

This is going to be a tough 4 years for us Conservatives. But, we should use this time to reform the Republican Party, and once again make it the party of Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Reagan.

Palin Debate Video 2

OK, I didn't watch the entire video, but from what I watched, I was impressed. Palin was poised and collected. Of course, she is more knowledgable on Alaskan issues then on foreign policy. I think that theres little chance that McCain will be embarrased by the Palin-Biden debate.

watched Palin's acceptance speech last night, Just 1 million less then the audience for 'The One's" speech. Also the CBS/New York Times poll has the race tied, and this was before 'Sarah Barracuda" spoke last night. I am feeling really good about this pick; I think for the first time since 1960, that a VP pick will make a difference in who wins this election. I think Palin can help McCain in Ohio and in PA and I hope she spends lot of time in both places. If she does I think McCain can start working on his acceptance speech.

I forgot to mention the speech! It was a home run in my estamation. McCain has a tough act to follow!
